Resources - For Self Care and Learning

Whether you're looking to ground yourself in mindfulness, explore practical techniques for emotional regulation, or dive into insightful readings, we offer you the following resources to help nourish you along your personal journey.

Practical Tools
  • Box Breathing helps to relieve anxiety and regulate the nervous system. This link was created as a tool for children, but we have found it a really simple way to understand how to box breathe.

  • Tapping / EFT uses soft tapping touches on specific acupressure points to calm the nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety.

  • Polyvagal Exercises help us to calm our nervous system and to feel a sense of inner safety and connection.

  • Coherence Breathing helps calm the nervous system. Breathe in long and slow for 6 seconds and breathe out long and slow for 6 seconds.

  • Self Compassion is allowing the same kind of care and compassion towards yourself that you’d show towards someone you care about. (Kristin Neff)

  • Vagus Nerve Yoga helps to reduce stress and improve our contact with our nervous system. Dr Arielle Schwartz offers guided Vagus Nerve yoga sessions.

  • Mindfulness is the practice of being present and aware of your thoughts, emotions, body and surroundings without judgement. This practice helps to reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and enhance self-awareness. Try mindfulness with Padraig O’Morain , the Insight Timer App (iOS) , Insight Timer App (Play Store) , and Jon Kabat-Zinn .
