Types Of Therapy
At Therapy Journey Ireland, our therapist’s work at a deeper
relational level - this takes time, trust and patience. As
Humanistic and Integrative therapists, we take a holistic
approach, exploring your emotional, physical and cogitive
world. We integrate a variety of therapeutic methods, always
tailored to your unique needs.
- Relational & Person-Centred
-
We all work in a person-centred way, meeting and accepting
you wherever you are at in your life. Building a strong
therapeutic relationship is central to the healing process,
and this relationship often becomes the foundation for
deeper self-exploration and transformation.
- Gestalt & Creative Methods
-
Gestalt therapy is often incorporated into our work. The
focus is on what is presenting in the moment, helping to
bring clarity and meaning to the experience. We also use a
variety of creative techniques – such as visualisation,
role-play, or body awareness – to support expression and
understanding.
- Neuroscience & Attachment
-
We incorporate learnings from neuroscience and attachment
theory to guide our work. These frameworks help us to
explore your inner experience, to support nervous system
regulation, and understand patterns formed in early
relationships.
- Psychodynamic & Childhood Development Theory
-
We use learnings from early childhood development theories
to explore how past experiences, particularly from early
childhood, might be influencing a person’s current thought,
behaviour and relational patterns. We work to uncover
unconscious behaviours and internal conflicts.
- CBT
-
CBT is a structured way of working to identify and modify
thought and behaviour patterns that are having a negative
impact on a person’s life. It is generally shorter term, the
focus is on problem-solving and it tends to be
goal-oriented.
- Bodywork Therapy
-
Bodywork involves working in some form with the human body.
This can include various techniques, breath work, energy
work, observation of posture, gestures, expressions and
movements. This type of therapy is used to promote
awareness, to build the body-mind connection and for
expression and release of emotion.
